Instructions for Task X

  1. Write steps as commands starting with an action verb, with each step as a single imperative sentence.

  2. Make sure to include as much detail as necessary for the user to be able to complete the step.

  3. Make sure that each step consists of only one action the user must perform.

  4. Limit the number of steps to 10 at most for a single topic.

  5. If a single step has multiple instructions that must be followed to complete the step, use a substep element.

    1. Substeps are indented 1 level higher than the main step and start a new numbered list.

    2. Like normal steps, write substeps as single imperative sentences with only one action to perform for each.

After all the required steps, use this line to describe the desired end results of the task; basically a statement answering the question "what should it look like when the task is complete?" for the user.
